Si...l'avevo già letto... e quando ho terminato di leggere mi è venuto un solo pensiero... "CHE TR**A!!" E poi quella babbiona dovrebbe mettere le mani al suo posto, o perlomeno dovrebbe stare lontana da Alex...è troppo vecchia per lui...e poi ha troieggiato abbastanza, mi sembra! intervista fatta a jamie e alex in olanda 
DUTCH INTERVIEW Alex: Does it still matter to you, what your parents think about what you do? Jamie: Yeah. Alex: And why? Jamie: Coz i think they're proud of me. If they found out i were a crackwhore, then i don't think they'd be very proud. Or if they found out i did - i were a crackwhore really and not in a band then they might go "Jamie. DOn't be a crackwhore." Alex: I guess it's always improtant what your mum and dad think about you. They're happy with what we do though you know what i mean. Jamie: What, being in a band or being a crackwhore? Alex [laughs]: Both. Interviewer Lady: So they're happy? Was this what they imagined you would become, did they stimulate you? Alex: Oh no, i think they were a bit surprised. Jamie: We didn't have parents like Michael Jackson like, if you f**ked a dance step, "F**k kid what are you doing? Get in the naughty boy cupboard for three days and you're having....celery to live on." I dunno, that's what i heard his parents did. ALex: No no they weren't like that. They didn't pressure us at all. They didn't even... IL: So what did they do themselves? Alex: What did they do? My dad's a music teacher. And my mum's a German teacher IL: And yours? Jamie: My dad's a maintenance fitter which is an engineer. And my mum's a dinner lady. IL: So do they come and see you play? Alex: Oh yeah, loads of times, loads of times yeah. IL: And would they ever tell you if you weren't good? If they wouldn't like it? Alex: Yeah my dad does. Hahaha "naughty boy cupboard"... but no, my dad can be critical sometimes but in a good way But yeah...they like what we do. Jamie [picks a card]: What is your fondest childhood memory? Alex: A fond one, were me grandma took me to Disneyland once when i were about eight years old and that were nice. But we're not really going anywhere with that so maybe i should just pick a card and we should move on...? IL: WOuld you say you had a good childhood? ALex: Oh yeah, absolutely. We didn't come from a ghetto or anything like that. It were quite a pleasant neighbourhood I suppose, where we came from. IL: So the theory that you have to suffer to be able to create doesnt apply to you? Allex: Well i think a lot of ppl have kind of disproved that almost There's people from a lot more priveleged backgrounds then us that have done well if you know what i mean. Jamie: Or pretending to not be from priveleged backgrounds... Alex: We were in like a working class area and whilst we weren't like subjected to poverty or anything. Maybe coz like i dunno, people in our families and stuff before us...we were always brought up...kinda taught the values of things and stuff like that. Jamie [takes a card]: Where were you when Kurt Cobain died? Alex [laughs]: In the womb weren't i? IL: How old were you? Do you still remember? Alex: 1992 weren't it? I was probably in Mrs. Witridges class [laughs]. I didn't have a fucking clue who Nirvana were probably then. Jamie: How old were you in '92? 5? Alex: Yeah five. Five or six. IL: Do you still recognise an important band in them later on? Jamie: Yeah yeah IL: Or is it old stuff...? Alex: I wasnt really into music when i was six. I hadnt opened that can of worms yet...no...Yeah so probably in...1992? Yeah probably Mrs Witridges class or Mrs Werrams. IL: What what were you into when you were that age? Alex: Ooh football. Yeah, Chris Warnball (?) and stuff. IL: So when did you start getting into music? Alex [to Jamie]: See what she does is, she like links it all. She's doing well. About late errm...my dad got us playing piano and stuff when i were about 8 but i never really got into that. But it went in. Got a bit of knowledge from that. And as i went into secondary school i started listening to stuff and getting into like bits and bobs. IL: What the first thing you really liked? Alex: I remember, in the car, my dad use to play Sinatra so i'm big on all that stuff to start with in that I listened to it in the car and that were it. I use to sing along to that i suppose. The Carpenters and stuff. I used to be into that. I still listen to it now it makes me smile and that i wouldnt say that i have it on my walkman at all. IL: And the first British band...? Alex: Erm... IL: Oasis? ALex: Yeah yeah, Oasis probably. Yeah Oasis. Definatly [takes a card] What's...[laughs] no no. He don't want that one. Jamie: Go on, do it do it! Alex: Whats the worst part of being in a band? Jamie: I dunno...Doing stuff like this. IL: Why is it not nice? Jamie: This one's pretty good. This is the best interview I've done in f**king...seven months. Since that MTV one in June..they didn't like us either. But no..media, interviews. i don't really like them. This is fun though. Alex: I like what you've done here. It's a good idea. IL: But whats so bad about interviews? Whats the problem with them Jamie: Apart from this one, they're just really repetitive. There's just so many times that you can tell someone how your band started. Coz everybody knows. It's probably been in every publication in the f**king world. Apart from Beeno. Or Sneak. Alex: It might even be in Sneak. Jamie: But yeah...media kinda stuff...Selling yourself! IL: But is it important?...Coz all the gigs were sold out. So why is the media important? Jamie: It isnt is it? There you go, answered youself! IL: But still you do this circus. You go from Japan to Norway... Alex: That's like the convention isnt it? They're learning though, they'll stop fighting us for it sooner or later. Its like a certain inner label, that's the way that they've done it before so they kinda think, thats the way they must do it. |
